This news pretty much put me over the top this morning. I have been thinking about this for awhile and I am just fed up with this whole "war" and our men and women dying in Iraq. I think "we the people" need to speak up more loudly and clearly. We are distracted with so many other issues and "news" that we forget that every day our fellow Americans die for really no reason except George Bush's ego. I am pretty tired of the daily death toll mounting and I for one want to remind us all to high cost of Bush's actions.

Iraq troop training takes backseat

clipped from www.thenewstribune.com

WASHINGTON – Military planners have abandoned the idea that standing up Iraqi troops will enable American soldiers to start coming home soon and now believe that U.S. troops will have to defeat the insurgents and secure control of troubled provinces.

Training Iraqi troops, which had been the cornerstone of the Bush administration’s Iraq policy since 2005, has dropped in priority, said officials in Baghdad and Washington.

But evidence has been building for months that training Iraqi troops is no longer the focus of U.S. policy.
